1. Visa Procedures
Azerbaijan offers a flexible visa policy. Citizens of many countries do not require a visa for short-term stays. Participants are encouraged to check individual requirements using the following official sources:

Eligible travelers may apply for a single-entry electronic visa (e-Visa):
  • Valid for 30 days
  • Typically processed within 3 business days
  • Requires a valid passport, email, and payment card
  • Issued electronically and must be printed for presentation at border control
It is strongly recommended to begin the visa application as early as possible.
2. Getting to Baku
The primary point of entry is Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD), which connects Baku to key regional and global hubs.
Direct flights are available from Istanbul, Dubai, Doha, Frankfurt, Vienna, Moscow, Tel Aviv, and others.
Major international airlines servicing Baku include Azerbaijan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Emirates, FlyDubai.
Airport facilities are modern, with English-language services and a range of transport options to the city center.
3. Local Transportation
Transportation within Baku is efficient and accessible. The following options are available:
  • Metro and buses cover all major districts and landmarks
  • Traditional taxis are widely available

For convenience and cost transparency, app-based services are generally preferred by international travelers.
4. Currency and Payments
The national currency is the Azerbaijani Manat (AZN).
Indicative exchange rates (6-month average):
  • 1 USD ≈ 1.7 AZN
  • 1 EUR ≈ 1.85 AZN
Credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard) are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops. Cash may be preferred for taxis and small vendors. ATMs and currency exchange services are readily available throughout the city and airport.
5. Accommodation
Baku offers a wide range of accommodation, from luxury hotels to mid-range options and serviced apartments.

6. Weather Conditions and Recommended Attire
Late June to early July in Baku is typically warm and dry, with occasional winds due to the city's coastal location.
Typical weather conditions:
  • Daytime temperatures: 28–33°C
  • Evening temperatures: 20–24°C
  • Low probability of rain
  • Moderate humidity and periodic coastal winds
Recommended clothing:
  • Light, breathable fabrics for daytime
  • Business casual attire for Forum sessions
  • Light jacket or shawl for evenings
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat for sun protection

7. Connectivity and SIM Cards
Baku offers stable and fast mobile and internet coverage. Wi-Fi is available at the airport, hotels, and many restaurants.
For extended stays or data needs, local prepaid SIM cards are available from:

  • Nar
SIM cards can be purchased at the airport and city retail points. A passport is required for registration. Data packages are inexpensive and support 4G/5G connectivity.
